Sellers’ Narrative

We initially set foot in this house as a young, newly-engaged couple and immediately decided to buy it. As we look back almost twenty-five years later, we’re glad that we trusted our instincts. This house is where we shared many wonderful moments as a couple and as a family.

We chose to live in Hercules primarily because of its strategic location which attracted a diverse mix of residents. A short drive from major commercial hubs like Marin, Concord/Walnut Creek and San Francisco, living in Hercules made it easy for us to have a harmonious work/life balance. As our children grew surrounded by people with different ethnicities, religions and sexes, it became inherent in them to approach life in different ways from different perspectives.

This house came with a big, beautiful and somewhat secluded backyard that provided us the perfect setting to gather our family and friends. It’s our own Tuscan Villa & Garden. It has good bones that supported our renovated dream kitchen and baths. When we planned to have our wedding here, we pictured that this will be our “forever” home. As such, we carefully selected every element that will be installed here:  quarter-inch solid oak flooring, glazed cherry cabinets, granite countertops, travertine tiles, skylights, walk-in shower, jetted tub and high-end appliances (WOLF Gas range & SUB-ZERO refrigeration) and fixtures.

We commuted back and forth to SF for work, and my husband still does. LYNX direct bus route from Hercules to SF is very convenient. After I board it at the Hercules Transit Center, which is a few minutes drive from our house, it goes to the carpool lane at I-80. The next stop is SF Transit Center which is at Howard and Main where I get off. The bus has WiFi so I can work while in transit. There's plenty of parking at the Hercules Transit Center (about $3/day) - very reasonable. At times, we walk a few minutes from our house to Falcon Way bus station and board the bus there.

Now, our children have grown and flown. It’s time for us to let go of our “forever” home so that another couple or family can flourish in it. Slow down, sit under the tree canopy with family and friends enjoying the outdoors listening to the constant and soothing water fountain flows. And once in a while, gaze up towards the summer glow of the sunset against the tree foliage. Enjoy your Tuscan Villa & Garden, in Hercules!
